Coping with the Demands and Rigors of Middle and High School

Going to middle school and high school can be very stressful, and present a child with a load of new and challenging responsibilities.  The greatest hurdles to overcome include successfully navigating social dynamics among rapidly maturing peers, hard academic work requiring ever developing executive functioning skills, and the physiological and mental stress of adolescent development.

Dr. Allen offers approaches to coach a teenager toward success.  Some strategies include academic skills coaching for enhancing executive function and preparedness, social and rapport building skills, stress management and self-regulation skills, counseling for problem-solving and life coaching, and psychotherapy for helping through life challenges.

Dr. Allen offers a therapeutic Kung Fu Training Room with a variety of skills building opportunities.  (See Kung Fu Program Section)
